Long Biography
Emerie Ediger is an artist at heart who believes in the power of music to move people. For almost her entire life, she has been singing in any capacity that she can. From musical theatre to choir to songwriting, music has always been a creative outlet for her to express her emotions. Emerie is a Commercial Music major in performance at Samford University and hopes to one day perform original music that can reach the hearts of people and make them feel heard.
Since she was a little girl, Emerie has been singing and making music with her mom, dad, and two older brothers. Ever since she sang in her 3rd grade talent show, she has had an inner spark for performing. From the moment she joined choir at North Gwinnett Middle School and attended honors choir, the rest was history. Emerie attended All-State Choir every year she was eligible, and was a soloist. Later in her high school career, she attended All-State Sight Reading Choir for three years in a row.
Through choir, Emerie has gotten the chance to serve as a soprano section leader and President of the North Gwinnett High School Choral Council. Searching for more opportunities to grow in her craft, she auditioned for and attended Kansas State University’s summer choral institute for three consecutive years. In 2019, Emerie was one of 8 sopranos from the state of GA to attend the Governor’s Honors Program for voice. Now in her freshman year of college, Emerie is a member of Samford’s historic and prestigious A Capella Choir.
In addition to choir, Emerie has always had a love for the world of theatre. Some of her favorite roles include The Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Dana (Theory of Relativity), and Glinda/Aunt Em (The Wizard of Oz). Emerie also served as co-music director for North Gwinnett HS’ theatre program from 2018-2021. She hopes to one day do theatre in any capacity that she can, purely for the joy of it.
Emerie Ediger has also been an avid songwriter for many years. From her earliest, albeit simple, songs in elementary school, she has loved experimenting with lyrics and sounds, and finding ways to make music that people can relate to. Her favorite original works include “Constellations” (voice/piano), “We Are Not the Same” (voice/guitar), “Looking Back” (voice/piano), “I Won’t Keep Waiting” (voice/ukulele), and “The Spark” (voice). As a commercial music major, Emerie hopes to make a career as a recording artist/singer-songwriter and make an impact on others through the music she makes.
